The time has come. After 26 years of successful ownership, we are searching for a discriminating buyer for our cruising sailboat. This well-designed, strongly-built, versatile blue-water cruising boat is ready to go. Note that SIESTA is not a “project” boat. This vessel has been professionally maintained. It has received many upgrades to make it an even safer, easier-to-operate, more comfortable cruising platform. With a single mast and three roller-furling sails, its versatile cutter sail plan offers safety, flexibility and ease of operation, all from inside the center cockpit. Note the date of the upgrades for much of its new, state-of-the-art equipment. And yet, the platform is a very well-built hull and deck that will perform well for many years to come. SIESTA will continue to maintain its value. A comparable boat, of the same rugged construction and quality, properly equipped, costs hundreds of thousand of dollars more. The CSY brand is sought after by knowledgeable, discriminating cruisers all over the world. I am sure you will check out the CSY brand and compare CSY boats with others of the same class. Your research will confirm what we are saying here: this boat is a rare find.
With two separate private staterooms, each with its own bathroom, and lots of storage available, it’s the perfect live-aboard floor plan. At the center of its comfortable interior, there is an ample, raised main salon with large windows, and a massive, folding butcher-block wooden dinner table. The galley is well-appointed with large, upright refrigerator and freezer compartments. There is easy access to all machinery, including a walk-in, separate engine room and workshop, for doing projects and repairs aboard, without spreading and soiling the living areas below. Its roomy center cockpit features a comfy huge swiveled captain’s chair which provides maximum visibility all-around, as well as easy access to all navigation instrumentation.
My wife and I sailed this boat by ourselves from San Francisco to the Florida Keys, through the Panama Canal, in 2001-2003. The trip of a lifetime! Since then, we have had the pleasure of hosting boy scouts from all over the US in these beautiful FL Keys waters: sailing, diving, fishing… during typically 6-day trips. We put in secluded anchorages in the evenings to cook our catch, to learn about the stars above, and to discuss the pleasures and challenges of living at sea.
This boat could be the boat you dreamed about. If you want move aboard and sail away tomorrow, it’s ready to go. Come down to the FL Keys and see it at our private dock in Marathon. If you buy the boat, we will be delighted to come along with you for a week of cruising in these beautiful, protected Florida Keys waters. After hosting scout crews aboard for 13 years, we know the quietest anchorages and best scenic places to visit, while we show you how everything works aboard.
These web pages will give you lots of information about our boat. Follow its main sections and submenus to check out SIESTA’s equipment, its modifications, as well as give you more insight on the CSY brand, and give you a glimpse about the places we visited during our sailing adventures. We hope you take the opportunity to come down to paradise, and check out SIESTA for yourselves.
